Our next meeting will be (9/22/2009) in the
Swalm Auditorium at 5:30pm with the MSU Chapter of AiChE

Immediately after that meeting, ASME will be hosting
Georgia-Pacific at 7:00 in Carpenter 112,
(AiChE will also be in attendance for this meeting with us.

Those of you who did not attend the Student Professional Development Conference this past spring missed out, but we are planning on going again this year, and one of the fun things we can do is to design something (following ASME guidlines) and compete with the other student sections in our district. This years competition is posted on the ASME website, and we are going to participate in all of the competitions this year, so that we can show off who we are, and what our professors are teaching us. If you are interested in learning more about the ASME Professional Development Conference, go to ASME's spdc page, or talk to Donnie Allen.
We are planning on participating in the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge with other ASME chapters from across the eastern U.S. this spring. We are in the process of securing sponsorship and funding for the project. The information on the challenge is on the ASME website. If you would like to see some cool videos of some designs from the past, you can look them up on YouTube. Just search "Human Powered Vehicle" I also enbedded a couple of videos that I liked below.
